Waiting for Guffman

So, since living with my dad (pictures of the new digs to come), I have been able to spend a good amount of time on a Mac. And that is just great to me. Its allowed me to blog, record music, talk with people who live far away, etc. But one of the best features of this has definitely been movies. I have lots of DVDs. And I would like get them on Kramer’s iPod. How do I do this? One word. “Handbrake.” Its a free download online and it is awesome. It rips the DVD in your DVD drive on your computer and converts the movie into a .mp4 format (ipod format). It is really cool. And its free. So that speaks for itself. So, with that, I was able to cut a chunk out of one of my favorite movies called Waiting For Guffman and put it on youtube. The movie is a mock-documentary (mockumentary) about a town that’s celebrating 100 years of being a town. They want to put on some kind of show to celebrate it so they ask the theatre buff (Christopher Guest) of the town to put it on. He finds people to play the parts and they eventually do put it on. The reason its funny is because the characters are so passionate about their performance and think they can get to Broadway but really they are not that good. It reminds me of my theatre days. Fun times.

Anyway… here’s a scene from the movie where they are performing the play. I love it.
